Festival Hue 2008, the fifth festival to be held in the ancient capital from June 3rd to 11th, will welcome the participation of 45 art troupes from 20 countries around the world.

In this year’s Festival Hue, four brand-new events will be introduced, including King Quang Trung’s coronation ceremony, the Xa Tac Ritual, the Royal Military Doctorate Examination, and the “Legends of the Perfume River”.

Moreover, three previously held festive programmes, namely the Nam Giao Offering Ritual, the Royal Palace’s Night and the Ao Dai fashion show, will be staged with new content added.

Festival Hue 2008’s opening ceremony will start at 20.00 on June 3rd at Ngo Mon Square, where the closing ceremony is also to be held on June 11th. The Ao Dai fashion show will be organized on the evening of June 8th.
